Maybe you prefer to hear a poem!

Still early enough for flying providences to stir the imagination... the young poets of La Barra de Potosi offer this.

Oh! I forgot... it's in Spanish. Here' s a translation:

I'm a shark
I'm big
I'm wide
I'm gray
I'm dangerous
I eat fish and people
My friend is the hammerhead
I live in the sea

It's early in the morning and perhaps all the brain cells have not really awakened. Nevertheless I toss providence to the wind and send this for all to see.

This was part of a children's theater and poetry workshop we had at Casa del Encanto for the Children's Library of Barra de Potosi. The leaders were a Poet from Philadelphia and a Playwrite from New York both who regularly lead such workshops for children in their respective homes. Do you recognize one of the children...?

Wild Writers!

Mad writers... hungry writers... We are fending them off with Enchiladas tonight. They work in the mornings, play in the afternoons and we feast in the evenings.

One of the perks of this business are the good parties with great people I regularly get to enjoy... and without having to go farther then my own home. Thank God I have help though!

I confess! I didn't make any of this.

I know Mother, you don't like Mexican food. I bet you would give this a try if you were here though. Well at least the Jimador.

Calling for posts!

Hello Family! The time to be shy is now past. If your own mother (Grandmother etc) has already revealed for posterity her Golden Fleece, weapon wielding rendition of a poem we will now never be able to forget, dare you deny us your own version of the Kelly family genetic propensity for creative insanity? (Oh wait... she didn't really do that knowingly... oh well... still.)

We are waiting with bated breath. Come on... come on... I'll send the user name and password for those who want to post their gems themselves from the privacy of their own abode. Those who find it dizzying to unravel the labyrinthine complexity of a blog need only email me their text with photos and videos added as an attachment. I promise to get it up there for all to see with faithful if shocking accuracy.

P.S. If you don't post, you won't get any of these incredible Chile Rellenos we've been slaving away at with only a couple of tequilitos!

Be undaunted

Hello family,

Be undaunted in your telling of your branch of the family's adventures. But just in case you find this posting thing technically daunting at first... you can send me your photos and videos and text by email to lauragecko@yahoo.com and I will faithfully put it up here on your behalf.

Love to all, Laura
